    External Collaborators

    1

    Open Project settings

Open the project, click its three-dot menu, then select Project settings.

    2

    Add the collaborator’s email

In Project Members, enter the new user’s email under Invite by email. Note, only project Admins or Owners can add or change members.

    3

    Choose Member or Limited Member

Use the role dropdown beside the email field to select Member or Limited Member.

Members have access to all project content.

Limited Members can only access tasks assigned to them, meetings they are invited to, and other content where they are explicitly @mentioned. Subtasks beneath tasks assigned to them are included.

Tip: Create a sub project (via the "Sub-project" tab) if you want external contributors to have full access to the sub project content, but not the parent project's content.

    4

    Save changes

Click Save changes to send the invitation. You can assign work immediately, before the collaborator accepts. They accept using the invited email address to access the project.

    5

Assign work and look for the External badge

Assign tasks, decisions and other work as needed. The blue External badge identifies collaborators outside the project’s organisation. Note, joining a project does not make them an organisation member.
